Been maining Malphite for three seasons with over 500k mastery points, and I've collected every single skin except Shamrock. When Glacial Malphite dropped, I grabbed it immediately thinking it'd just be another ice reskin, but after 150+ games, this one hits different.
The Q feels way smoother compared to other Malphite skins, especially Mecha Malphite where the animation feels clunky. Your ground slam actually has this satisfying crunch that makes last hitting easier, and I swear the E animation is cleaner for canceling into your ult combo. But what really sells it is the ultimate. The frozen trail effect makes it easier to see exactly where you're going to land, which sounds minor but actually helps in those chaotic dragon fights where everything's popping off. Last week I stole baron with a perfect ult into smite combo, and my team said they could track my engage path better than usual because of the ice particles.
Compared to Obsidian Chroma or even FPX, Glacial Malphite review shows it's purely cosmetic but feels premium. The recall animation where he turns into this ice fortress is probably the cleanest in his collection. Worth the 1350 RP? If you're a Malphite main, absolutely. The visual clarity alone makes it worth, especially when you're trying to hit those game-winning five man ults. And the sound effects don't get old even after spamming him for a month straight.
Is Glacial Malphite worth it for casual players? Maybe not if you only play him occasionally. But for anyone who actually plays the rock regularly, this skin makes the champion feel less outdated and way more satisfying to pilot. Definitely my go-to now over Mecha or Ironside.
