FPX Gangplank

Been spamming FPX Gangplank for about 50 games now after grabbing it from a chest, and honestly this skin grew on me way more than I expected. The phoenix theme actually works better than Pool Party for visibility in teamfights, which surprised me since I always defaulted to that one before.

The barrel chains feel more responsive compared to base Gangplank, probably because the golden explosions have cleaner edges that make timing your combos easier. Your Q has this satisfying golden tracer that's easier to track in messy fights, and the ult drops these phoenix feathers that are way clearer than the standard cannonballs. During a baron fight yesterday, I managed to zone three people perfectly because I could actually see where my ult waves were landing through all the spell effects. But what really sells it is the passive burn animation being this blue flame that doesn't blend into the map like Captain GP's does.

Is FPX Gangplank worth it compared to other Gangplank skins? If you're choosing between this and something like Dreadnova, FPX wins purely for gameplay clarity. The skin isn't pay to win or anything, but those cleaner animations definitely help when you're trying to hit those triple barrel combos while fed. My experience with FPX Gangplank convinced me it's worth the 1350 RP if you play GP regularly, especially since the World Champions 2019 theme means it won't come back to the shop often.

For GP mains who want both style and function, this beats most of his catalog. Special Forces might be smoother, but FPX has that perfect balance of looking insane while keeping everything readable. Worth picking up next time it rotates through.
