Festival Kassadin

Reigning from his frozen throne on a lonely mountain, Kassadin prepares in secret for a special festival hidden deep in the icy wastes. Whether it's a winter sports festival, none can say… except for the attendees, who think he's being ridiculous.

Got Festival Kassadin from a chest last week and honestly wasn't expecting much since it's one of his older skins. After around 40 games though, I'm actually pretty impressed with how clean it feels compared to base Kassadin. The whole winter sports vibe is kinda cringe but good once you get used to the ski goggles and bright colors.

The Q feels way more responsive than base skin, probably because the snowball animation is clearer than that weird purple orb. Your E actually looks bigger which threw me off at first but helps in teamfights when everyone's spamming abilities. And the ult has this satisfying ice crack sound that makes you feel like you're actually doing damage even when you're just stacking it in lane. During a baron fight yesterday, I could actually track my position better through all the chaos because the white particles stand out more than purple effects. It's purely cosmetic but somehow makes dodging skillshots feel easier.

Compared to other Kassadin skins like Cosmic Reaver, Festival definitely shows its age but in a charming way. The recall animation where he does ski tricks is still fun to spam when you're fed. Is Festival Kassadin worth it if you're buying with RP? Maybe not at 520 RP when newer skins exist, but if you get it from a chest like I did, it's absolutely worth using over base.

My experience with Festival Kassadin convinced me it's actually one of his more practical skins despite looking dated. The visual clarity alone makes it decent for climbing, and Kassadin mains who want something different from the usual dark themes should definitely give it a shot when it goes on sale.
