Empyrean Varus

Been maining Varus since season 8 with over 500k mastery points, and when Empyrean dropped I had to grab it immediately. After around 90 games with this skin, I can honestly say it's become my go-to over Dark Star and Project, which were my previous favorites. The visual clarity on this skin is insane, especially the Q charge indicator that glows progressively brighter compared to other Varus skins where you're sometimes guessing the charge level.

The W proc visibility makes such a difference in teamfights. Just yesterday in a dragon fight, I could instantly track my blight stacks on three different targets through all the chaos, something that gets muddy on Cosmic Hunter. My E feels more responsive too, with a cleaner animation that actually matches the slow field better than base skin. And the ult projectile? Way easier to track for both you and your team. The tendril spread animation when it chains is probably the clearest visual indicator across all his skins, making those clutch picks more consistent.

Is Empyrean Varus worth it compared to his other options? For serious Varus players, absolutely. The 1820 RP price might seem steep but the competitive advantages are real. This isn't just a cosmetic upgrade like Conqueror or Heartseeker. The smoother auto attack animations actually help with kiting, and I've noticed my CS has been slightly better since switching. Project Varus used to be my tryhard skin but Empyrean has completely replaced it. If you're just looking for something pretty, grab Cosmic Hunter on sale. But if you want every possible edge while still looking good, Empyrean is worth the investment.
