Empyrean Pyke

Empyrean Pyke caught me completely off guard when I pulled it from a hextech chest last month. Never expected to main this skin but after 50 games, I'm actually considering making it my go to over PROJECT.

The Q feels insanely smooth compared to other Pyke skins, especially when you're charging it up for those max range hooks. That purple energy trail makes it easier to judge the hitbox in messy teamfights too. His E dash has this satisfying phantom trail that somehow makes the stun timing feel more responsive, though that's probably just mental. And the ult execution threshold is way clearer with that glowing circle effect. Just yesterday in a dragon fight, I managed to chain three ults perfectly because the reset indicator was so obvious, something I'd sometimes miss on Sand Wraith when everything gets chaotic.

Compared to PROJECT which I used for around 200 games, Empyrean feels less clunky overall. PROJECT has cooler sound effects but Empyrean's animations flow better between combos. The W camouflage looks sick with that ghostly fade but doesn't give any real advantage since enemies still see the same shimmer. It's purely cosmetic, not pay to win at all. The recall animation where he floats up is pretty clean but nothing special.

Is Empyrean Pyke worth it if you're buying with RP? At 1350 it's decent value for Pyke mains who want smoother animations. But if you already own PROJECT or Blood Moon, you're not missing much. My experience with Empyrean Pyke has been surprisingly positive for a random drop, though I wouldn't have bought it myself. Still keeping it equipped for now since those cleaner animations genuinely help me land hooks more consistently.
