Empyrean Akali

After 80 games with Empyrean Akali, I can finally give you guys a proper breakdown of whether this skin is actually worth grabbing or just another flashy cosmetic trap.

The Q feels way smoother than base skin, especially when you're trying to CS under tower. Her passive circle is probably the biggest upgrade though, with that purple glow making it super clear when you can proc it compared to something like Nurse Akali where I sometimes lose track in teamfights. And the E shuriken has this satisfying weight to it that makes landing those max range hits feel more responsive. During a baron fight yesterday, I landed a perfect E through three enemies and the visual clarity let me instantly track who I could R2 to for the escape. But the real difference is in the shroud, which has these subtle particle effects that don't give away your exact position as much as KDA does with those bright neon trails.

Compared to other Akali skins like True Damage or even Headhunter, Empyrean sits in this sweet spot where it's not too distracting but still feels premium. The recall animation alone makes you feel like you're about to pop off in the next fight. It's definitely not pay to win, but the cleaner animations on Q and passive make last hitting feel less clunky during laning phase, which matters when you're trying not to int early game.

Is Empyrean Akali worth it? For anyone who plays her regularly, absolutely. The 1350 RP price feels justified when you compare it to her other Epic tier skins. My experience with Empyrean Akali has been nothing but positive, and I'd recommend picking it up if you main her or even just enjoy playing assassins occasionally.
