After maining Azir for three seasons with around 500k mastery, I finally grabbed Elderwood during the last sale and it's become my go-to skin after 90+ games. The difference from base Azir is honestly night and day, especially when you're trying to CS under pressure or setting up those clutch teamfights.
The Q feels way more responsive compared to other Azir skins, with this satisfying swoosh sound that actually helps me time my soldier repositioning better. Your W soldiers spawn with this nature burst effect that's easier to track in messy fights, and the ult wall has cleaner animation frames that make it obvious where enemies can't dash through. Just yesterday I was defending baron pit and landed a perfect 4-man ult that probably would've whiffed on Warring Kingdoms because the wall visibility is just that much better. The recall animation where you turn into this tree emperor is pretty sick too, though it's a bit long if you're trying to base quickly.
Compared to SKT Azir which I used religiously before this, Elderwood just feels less clunky overall. The auto attack animations blend smoother with your soldier attacks, making it easier to weave in that extra damage during trades. And when you're fed and diving their backline, the green effects don't blend into river or jungle areas like some of his blue skins do. Is Elderwood Azir worth it? For 1350 RP it's definitely not pay-to-win but the visual clarity alone makes it worth for anyone who plays him regularly. If you're an Azir main looking for that slight edge in readability during teamfights, this skin delivers where it counts.
