Dragon Trainer Heimerdinger

Dragon training, to the few who understand it, seems to be the sole domain of yordles. Heimerdinger has long believed that dragons and humankind can peacefully coexist, citing centuries of his own successful research. His current dragon hatchling, Pythagoras, holds no opinion on the subject.

Dragon Trainer Heimerdinger caught my eye after seeing a streamer absolutely dominate with it, and after 50 games I can confidently say this skin changes how the champion feels to play. The turrets being little dragons is obviously the main selling point, but what really sold me was how much cleaner the Q animation feels when placing them compared to base skin. You know exactly where they'll land and the spawn timing feels more responsive somehow.

The W rockets transformed into fireballs make trading in lane so much better visually. I've noticed I'm landing more poke because the projectile is easier to track for me while being harder for enemies to dodge since it looks smaller than it actually is. And the ult upgrade turning your turret into a massive dragon is probably the most satisfying thing in the game when you pop off in a teamfight. During a baron fight yesterday, I dropped the empowered Q and watching that dragon melt their fed ADC while they tried to focus baron was insane.

Compared to other Heimerdinger skins like Alien Invader, Dragon Trainer just feels premium. The 1820 RP price is worth it if you're a Heimer main because every ability has that extra polish. It's not pay to win but the visual clarity on your turret ranges and rocket trajectories definitely helps with positioning. My experience with Dragon Trainer Heimerdinger has been nothing but positive and I've actually climbed more consistently since getting it.

Is Dragon Trainer Heimerdinger worth it? For anyone who plays him regularly, absolutely. The skin makes the champion feel less clunky and way more enjoyable to pilot through long games.
