Dark Star Varus

After 55 games with Dark Star Varus, I can confidently say this skin completely changes how the champion feels in your hands. The Q charge animation has this subtle cosmic pull that makes timing your poke so much cleaner compared to base Varus, and I'm landing way more max range shots now. Project Varus might have the cooler sound effects, but Dark Star's visual clarity is insane for tracking your own damage output.

The ult is where this skin really shines though. During a baron fight yesterday, I threw out my R and the enemy support literally walked into it because the dark tendrils blend perfectly with river terrain. That's probably why I've been hitting more chains lately, the corruption spread looks less threatening than other skins but catches people off guard. Your E pool has this void effect that makes CSing under tower feel smoother too, like the animation cancels are just faster somehow.

Compared to other Varus skins like Arclight which I mained forever, Dark Star feels more responsive overall. The W proc visuals are cleaner so you know exactly when to pop that third stack for maximum damage. Is Dark Star Varus worth it at 1350 RP? If you're a Varus main who plays him regularly, absolutely. But it's not pay to win or anything, just cosmetic improvements that make the champ feel better to pilot.

My experience with Dark Star Varus convinced me to make it my go to skin for ranked. The animations flow together better than most of his other options and after this many games, I can't imagine going back to Arclight or Infernal. Worth every RP if you actually play the champion.
