Curling Veigar

Curling is a sport where players slide stones across the ice with a stick. Veigar is an evil yordle obsessed with annihilating the great cities of Valoran. It just makes sense.

Picked this up during the Winter Sports event after seeing a Challenger streamer absolutely demolish with it, and after 55 games I'm convinced there's something special about this skin compared to other Veigar skins. The curling stone replacing his Q just feels cleaner to last hit with, probably because the projectile stands out better against minion waves. Where Final Boss Veigar can get visually messy in teamfights, Curling keeps everything crisp.

The E cage animation is what sold me initially. That ice rink border appears maybe a frame faster than base skin, giving enemies less time to react when you're setting up ganks. And the W meteor becoming a massive curling stone actually helps me gauge the drop zone better in chaotic dragon fights. Last week I landed a perfect cage into W combo that caught three people trying to contest drake, something I'd probably miss on Omega Squad where the darker effects blend into river terrain.

But here's what nobody talks about with my experience with Curling Veigar. The ult projectile is insanely clear for both you and enemies. No fancy particles or overwhelming effects, just a clean curling stone that screams danger. It's almost pay to win how much easier it is to track in teamfights compared to something like Bad Santa Veigar where the present box can get lost in the visual noise. The recall animation where he sweeps the ice is a bit long but worth watching a fed enemy back in style.

Is Curling Veigar worth it? For 520 RP it's one of the best value skins in his collection. Not as flashy as his expensive options but the clarity advantage makes it my go to for ranked games where every skillshot matters.
