Cosmic Lux instantly became my main skin after pulling it from a hextech chest last month, and I've spammed around 80 games with it since then. Never expected a free drop would replace my beloved Elementalist, but this skin hits different in all the right ways.
The Q feels insanely smooth compared to base Lux, with cleaner animation cancels that actually matter when you're trying to combo fast. Her E is where this skin really shines though, the cosmic bubble is way easier to track in messy teamfights and I swear the pop timing feels more responsive. During a baron fight yesterday, I landed a perfect E through three enemies stacked up because the visibility was so clear I could actually see where it would land between all the spell effects. And the ult beam has this satisfying cosmic charge-up that makes timing easier, especially when you're trying to snipe that low HP adc recalling under tower.
Compared to other Lux skins like Star Guardian or even Elementalist, Cosmic wins on clarity alone. The spell effects don't blend into Summoner's Rift like some of her darker skins do, and everything just feels tighter. Is Cosmic Lux worth it if you're buying with RP? At 1820 RP it's a bit steep, but for anyone who plays her regularly, the smoother combos alone make it worthwhile. This isn't pay-to-win exactly, but the visual clarity definitely gives you an edge in cluttered fights.
My experience with Cosmic Lux convinced me to actually main her again after taking a break. If you're on the fence about which Lux skin to grab, this one's probably the best mix of aesthetics and actual gameplay improvement you'll find.
