Commando Jarvan IV

Picked up Commando Jarvan IV from a chest last week and honestly wasn't expecting much from this 520 RP skin. After around 40 games though, I'm actually surprised how clean it feels compared to base Jarvan. The military aesthetic isn't flashy but there's something satisfying about the stripped-down commando vibe that just works.

The E-Q combo feels noticeably smoother with cleaner animation cancels that make those clutch engages way more consistent. His ult has this subtle dust effect when you trap enemies that's easier to track in teamfights, and I swear the flag drop on E feels more responsive. Had this insane dragon fight yesterday where I caught their fed ADC with a perfect E-Q into ult combo and the whole thing just flowed better than usual. My team was probably wondering why I was popping off so hard but this skin genuinely makes mechanical plays feel tighter.

Compared to other Jarvan IV skins like Warring Kingdoms with all its golden effects, Commando is pure function over flash. It's definitely not pay-to-win but the visual clarity is real. No distracting particles means you can focus on landing those crucial combos without extra noise. The recall animation where he plants his flag is basic but fits the military theme perfectly.

Is Commando Jarvan IV worth it if you're a J4 main? If you want something that won't tilt you with clunky animations and prefer clean visuals over fancy effects, absolutely grab it. But if you're after something that'll turn heads in loading screen, maybe save for Dark Star instead. For me though, this unexpected addition became my go-to skin for ranked games.
