Buccaneer Tristana

Picked up Buccaneer Tristana from a mystery chest last week and honestly wasn't expecting much from this older skin. After about 40 games though, I'm actually shocked at how clean it feels compared to base Tristana. The pirate theme seemed kinda cringe at first but it's grown on me in a weird way.

The Q attack speed buff feels way smoother with the cannon animations, and I swear the autos connect better when you're trying to CS under tower. Her W jump has this satisfying cannonball splash that makes it easier to track where you're landing in messy teamfights. But the real difference is the E bomb explosion. Yesterday during a dragon fight, I could actually tell when my bomb was about to pop off on their Jinx through all the chaos because the fuse animation is so much clearer than base skin. That probably saved us the game since I timed my ult perfectly to knock her into our team right as it exploded.

Compared to other Tristana skins like Riot Girl or even Dragon Trainer, Buccaneer holds up surprisingly well for 520 RP. It's not pay-to-win or anything, but the cleaner animations definitely help with last hitting and tracking your abilities. The recall animation with the treasure chest is pretty basic but whatever, you're not buying this for the recall.

Is Buccaneer Tristana worth it? If you're a Trist main looking for something different without breaking the bank, absolutely. It's not flashy like her newer skins but sometimes simpler is better when you're trying to pop off and carry. Would recommend grabbing it next time it's in Your Shop if you play her regularly.
