Blood Moon Akali sits in this weird spot where the aesthetics completely outshine what I expected from a 975 RP skin, making it probably my most used Akali skin after 120 games this season.
The Q feels snappier compared to base Akali, with that blood effect making it easier to track in teamfights when everything gets chaotic. Her E shuriken flip has this satisfying red trail that somehow makes the hitbox feel clearer than on KDA or True Damage. And the shroud? That crimson smoke actually helps me keep track of my position better during hectic skirmishes. I remember this one dragon fight where the enemy Yasuo completely lost me in my shroud because the darker red blends perfectly with the river walls at night, letting me pop off with a triple kill while their team was tilted trying to find me.
Compared to other Akali skins like Infernal or Silverfang, Blood Moon just has better visibility for both you and your opponents. The passive circle is super clear with that red glow, and the ult dash leaves this clean blood trail that makes it easier to track where you're going to land. Sure, it's not pay to win or anything, but the cleaner animations definitely help when you're trying to CS under tower or need to execute those frame perfect combos.
Is Blood Moon Akali worth it? For anyone who plays her regularly, absolutely. The skin aged incredibly well since release, and at 975 RP it's honestly better value than some of her 1350 skins. My experience with Blood Moon Akali convinced me to grab the rest of the Blood Moon set during the last sale.
