Blight Crystal Varus

Getting Blight Crystal Varus from a chest was probably the best RNG I've had all season. After 55 games with this skin, I can honestly say it's become my go-to over Dark Star, and that's saying something since I've been maining Varus for three years now.

The Q charge feels noticeably smoother compared to other Varus skins, especially base. Where the default skin has this weird stutter at max charge, Blight Crystal's animation flows perfectly into release. His W procs have this satisfying crystal shatter effect that makes last hitting feel crispier somehow. But the real difference is his ult. The corruption spreading animation is so clear that I've landed more chains in teamfights just because I can track who's infected better. During a baron fight yesterday, I ulted their Jinx and could instantly see the spread pattern hit their support, something that gets lost in Dark Star's purple mess.

Compared to other Varus skins, this one sits in a weird spot. It's not as flashy as PROJECT or Cosmic Hunter, but the clarity is insane. The auto attacks have this distinct sound that helps with kiting, and the E circle is probably the clearest of any skin. Is Blight Crystal Varus worth it? For anyone who plays him regularly, absolutely. It's basically cosmetic only, not pay-to-win, but those small visual improvements add up when you're trying to pop off in ranked.

My experience with Blight Crystal Varus convinced me that sometimes the less popular skins are sleepers. If you're deciding between this and the flashier options, I'd say grab this one. Your teammates won't be impressed in champ select, but you'll appreciate it every time you're fed and need those clean animations to carry.
