Blackfrost Rek’Sai

Got this from a mystery chest last week and honestly wasn't expecting much since I barely touch Rek'Sai anymore, but after 35 games with Blackfrost, I'm actually impressed. The skin completely changes how her kit feels, especially compared to base or even Pool Party which I used to main with.

The Q tunnels have this icy cracking sound that's way more satisfying than the default dirt effect, and her W tremor sense gives enemies this frozen outline that's probably the clearest visibility I've seen on any Rek'Sai skin. But what really sold me was during a dragon fight yesterday where I could actually track the enemy Kayn through walls better because the frost particles on my ult mark stayed visible longer than usual. That extra half second of clarity meant I could predict his dash and land the knock up perfectly. The E tunnel entrance animation feels more responsive too, like there's less delay between pressing it and actually going underground.

Compared to other Rek'Sai skins like Eternum, Blackfrost actually feels less clunky when animation canceling your Q into E. The ice effects don't obscure your vision during teamfights either, which I think makes it slightly pay to win if you're really pushing it. Is Blackfrost Rek'Sai worth it though? For 1350 RP it's a bit steep considering she's not exactly meta right now, but my experience with Blackfrost Rek'Sai has been positive enough that I'd recommend it if you play her more than occasionally. The skin aged well since release and still looks insane when you're fed and diving their backline. Maybe wait for a sale unless you're already committed to learning her properly.
