Been spamming Blackfrost Anivia for about 100 games now after buying it during a losing streak, and honestly this skin completely changed how I approach teamfights. The dark ice aesthetic isn't just for show, it genuinely makes landing combos feel more intuitive compared to other Anivia skins I've tried.
The Q feels heavier somehow, like it has more weight behind it when you're trying to hit that crucial stun in lane. But where this skin really shines is the wall clarity. I can't count how many times I've perfectly blocked jungle paths during dragon fights because the darker ice contrasts better against the map. Last night I trapped their fed Katarina between my wall and dragon pit, and the cleaner animation made it way easier to place compared to Festival Queen which I mained before. The ult is probably the biggest improvement though. That swirling black frost effect makes it super obvious where the damage zone ends, and enemies seem to respect it more than the base skin's happy blue circle.
Is Blackfrost Anivia worth it? For 1820 RP it's definitely on the expensive side, but after my experience with Blackfrost Anivia, I'd say it's more than just cosmetic. The visual clarity actually gives you a slight edge, especially in messy teamfights where every pixel matters. And compared to other Anivia skins like Papercraft or Hextech, this one feels the most responsive when animation canceling your autos between abilities.
If you're serious about climbing with Anivia, grab this during a sale. The improved visibility alone makes it worth, and you'll probably tilt enemies harder when they get deleted by an evil ice chicken instead of the regular blue one.
