Got Battle Academia Yone from a chest last week and wasn't expecting much since I usually run Spirit Blossom, but this skin completely changed my mind about the whole skinline. After around 35 games, I'm actually considering making it my main skin even though the anime aesthetic isn't usually my thing.
The Q feels way smoother than base, especially when you're stacking it for trades in lane. But what really sold me was the E animation being clearer about when you can snap back, which sounds minor but makes a huge difference when you're tower diving. Last night I was getting camped hard and managed to outplay a three man gank under tower because I could time my E return perfectly with the cleaner visual. The ult has this satisfying swoosh sound that makes landing those max range engages feel insane, though the wind effect is maybe a bit much during teamfights. Compared to Spirit Blossom, Battle Academia feels more responsive overall, like there's less delay between inputs.
Is Battle Academia Yone worth it? For 1350 RP, you're getting more than just cosmetic changes. The E clarity alone probably won me an extra game or two from better timing, so there's a slight pay-to-win element here. My experience with Battle Academia Yone surprised me since I thought it would be too flashy, but the technical improvements make it genuinely competitive with his legendary skins.
If you're a Yone main who values clean animations over pure aesthetics, grab this one. Even if you're not into the school theme, the mechanical feel is worth trying when it goes on sale.
