Battle Academia Katarina

Battle Academia Katarina caught me completely off guard when I pulled it from a hextech chest last month. After 50 games with it, I'm actually shocked how much cleaner the animations feel compared to my usual Project skin that I've been running for two years.

The biggest difference is how her E feels more responsive when you're trying to combo fast. Where Project sometimes feels like there's a tiny delay between shunker placement and jump, Battle Academia flows instantly which saved my ass during a baron fight yesterday when I needed to get out after deleting their ADC. Her ult visually pops way harder too, making it easier to track damage in messy teamfights. And the Q dagger bounce actually feels smoother somehow, probably just the visual but it makes CS'ing under tower less of a pain. Compared to other Katarina skins like Warring Kingdoms or even Blood Moon, this one just feels mechanically tighter.

Is Battle Academia Katarina worth it though? For 1350 RP it's not exactly cheap, but after my experience with Battle Academia Katarina I'd say it's more than just cosmetic. The cleaner animation on her E alone has helped me pull off combos I'd sometimes whiff on other skins. It's not completely pay to win or anything insane like that, but there's definitely a slight clarity advantage in teamfights when everyone's abilities are going off at once.

If you're a Kat main who plays her regularly, this skin will probably improve your gameplay by maybe 2 or 3 percent just from the visual clarity alone. But if you only play her occasionally, stick with whatever you've got because the difference won't matter enough to justify the price.
