Baron Von Veigar

Ruler of the New Bandle Republic, Veigar considers himself the ultimate dark power of the wasteland—an evil so great that no man, woman, or creature would ever dare challenge his authority. Recently, he fixed up a water purifier and an electric grid for the city, too. An electric grid… OF EVIL!

Grabbed Baron Von Veigar from a mystery chest last week and wasn't expecting much from this older skin, but after around 40 games I'm actually impressed with how it holds up. The military theme hits different when you're stacking AP and watching enemies disappear into purple smoke.

The Q feels way cleaner than base Veigar, probably because the projectile is this bright green orb that's super easy to track in teamfights. Your cage placement gets better visibility too since the metal spikes stand out more against Rift terrain. But what really sold me was the ult animation where he pulls out that massive cannon and just deletes people. Had this insane dragon fight yesterday where their fed Jinx tried to steal and I just walked up, dropped cage behind pit wall, and one shot her with the cannon ult while she was trapped. The whole team went nuts in chat because the execution looked so smooth compared to other Veigar skins.

Comparing this to my friend's Omega Squad Veigar, Baron feels less clunky overall. The AA animation cancels are more responsive which helps with last hitting when you're trying to stack passive early. And the recall where he's polishing his monocle while sitting on missiles? Pure class. It's definitely not pay to win or anything, but the visual clarity on abilities does make landing combos feel easier.

Is Baron Von Veigar worth it if you're a Veigar main? Absolutely, especially if you can snag it on sale. The skin aged surprisingly well for something this old and compared to other Veigar skins in this price range, you're getting solid value. Maybe not essential for casual players but any Veigar enthusiast will appreciate the smoother feel.
