Just hit 150 games with Asylum Shaco after grabbing it from a mystery chest last month, and honestly this skin completely changed how I play the champion. The Q feels way smoother than base skin, probably because the stealth animation doesn't have that weird delay before you disappear. But what really sold me was using it in a baron fight where my clone spawned behind their ADC and the enemy team couldn't tell which one was real since both models look equally deranged with those twitchy idle animations.
The E throw animation is insanely clean compared to Workshop Shaco which I mained before. You can actually cancel the animation faster which lets you weave in more autos during ganks. And the ult pop creates this perfect chaos where enemies hesitate for that extra split second trying to figure out which psycho clown is about to delete them. During a tower dive yesterday, their support literally flashed away from my clone thinking it was me because the spawn animation is so much less obvious than other skins.
Is Asylum Shaco worth it? For 975 RP it's definitely one of the better value Shaco skins. The boxes look creepier which might tilt some players, though I think Dark Star still has the best visual clarity overall. This skin won't make you suddenly pop off if you're bad at Shaco, but the smoother animations genuinely help with combos. My experience with Asylum Shaco convinced me it's slightly pay to win just because of how the clone spawns, but not enough that Riot would ever address it. If you're a Shaco main looking for something different from the usual skins, this one's actually worth considering.
