Been maining Sylas for three years now with 650k mastery points, and Ashen Slayer Sylas might be the smoothest skin he's gotten yet. After spamming around 80 games with it this patch, I can confidently say it's worth picking up if you're serious about climbing with our chain boy.

The Q animation feels way cleaner than base or even Lunar Wraith. You know that awkward delay when you're trying to Q2 into someone during a hectic dragon fight? Practically gone with this skin. The chains actually connect when they look like they should, which sounds basic but makes those clutch steals feel more responsive. His W has this satisfying crunch sound that helps you track healing in teamfights better than Freljord Sylas ever could. But the real game changer is the ult animation being less clunky. Yesterday I stole a Malphite ult during a tower dive and the cast time felt instant, probably saved me from eating that final tower shot.

Compared to other Sylas skins like PROJECT or Prestige, Ashen Slayer wins on clarity alone. The darker color scheme makes it easier to track your position in messy 5v5s, and enemies seem to have trouble seeing the E2 coming in river fights. Not exactly pay to win, but there's definitely a slight advantage when your abilities don't telegraph as hard. The exclusive skin line fits Sylas perfectly with that revolutionary vibe he's got going on.

Is Ashen Slayer Sylas worth it? If you're grinding ranked and want every edge possible, absolutely. My experience with Ashen Slayer Sylas convinced two friends to grab it after watching me pop off. Should you buy Ashen Slayer Sylas over PROJECT? Unless you really love neon colors, this one's the better investment for climbing.
