Arctic Ops Gragas

Got Arctic Ops Gragas from a hextech chest last month and honestly wasn't expecting much since I mainly run Vandal or Hillbilly. After about 35 games though, this skin's grown on me in ways I didn't anticipate. The military theme felt weird at first on our favorite drunk but there's something satisfying about the tactical aesthetic that just works.

The Q barrel toss feels way cleaner than base skin, probably because the grenade animation has better visibility against most backgrounds. His W drunk rage getting replaced with that arctic armor glow actually helps me time the damage reduction better in teamfights. And the ult is where this skin really shines. During a baron fight yesterday, I landed a perfect cask that separated their ADC from the team and the explosion effect was so clear that even my teammates commented on it. Compared to Vandal Gragas which I've been using forever, Arctic Ops has more responsive animations that make combo canceling feel smoother.

Is Arctic Ops Gragas worth it? For 1350 RP it's not exactly budget friendly but the quality matches the price point. The recall animation where he does pushups then chugs is absolutely hilarious and tilted my lane opponent when I BM'd after a solo kill. My experience with Arctic Ops Gragas convinced me it's purely cosmetic with no real advantage, though the clearer visuals do help in chaotic fights.

If you're a Gragas main looking for something different from the usual skins, this one's solid. But if you already own Vandal or Oktoberfest, maybe wait for a sale unless you really vibe with the military theme.
