After grinding around 50 games with Arcane Inventor Jayce, I gotta say this skin hits different compared to other Jayce skins. The whole steampunk vibe from Arcane really comes through, and it's not just about looking good in champ select. Your Q in cannon form feels way more responsive than base skin, especially when you're trying to poke through minions. The projectile is easier to track which actually helps with those max range shots during laning phase.
The hammer form E has cleaner animation frames that make insec combos feel smoother. I remember this one dragon fight where I needed to knock their fed Katarina away from my ADC, and the knockback timing felt instant compared to Debonair Jayce where sometimes it feels slightly delayed. But what really sells it for me is the transformation between forms. That gear mechanism animation when you press R doesn't just look insane, it actually helps you track your cooldowns better since the visual cue is so distinct. My CS improved by probably 10 per game just because last hitting with the hammer autos feels less clunky.
Is Arcane Inventor Jayce worth it though? For 975 RP it's definitely worth if you're planning to main him or already spam him regularly. It's purely cosmetic advantage, not pay to win, but those small quality of life improvements add up. Compared to Battle Academia which costs more, this one gives you better clarity without the flashy particles that can sometimes tilt you when you're behind. If you're choosing between this and Forsaken Jayce, go with Arcane Inventor unless you prefer the darker aesthetic. The skin aged really well since release and still feels premium in game.
