Arcana Xerath

Ensnared by his own desires, Xerath leads citizens of Low Arcana to act on their basest urges. The more they are entranced by the forbidden, the more his power grows. But while Xerath believes their temptation will lead to his deliverance, he does not realize that the stronger he becomes, the more tightly his chains bind him.

After 90 games with Arcana Xerath, I can finally give you guys my honest take on whether this skin is actually worth grabbing. Been maining Xerath since season 8 with around 600k mastery points, and this skin completely changes how the champion feels to play. The visual clarity alone makes it stand out compared to other Xerath skins in ways I didn't expect.

The Q charge feels so much smoother compared to base or even Battlecast. You can actually see the exact range buildup with those purple energy lines, and the animation cancel between Q and W flows better than any other skin I've used. His ult is where things get insane though. Those arcane meteors have cleaner hitboxes that match what you're seeing on screen perfectly. Last night I was defending baron pit and landed all five ult shots on their fed Jinx because I could actually track where each shot would land without second guessing. The W explosion has this satisfying purple pop that makes CSing under tower feel less clunky too, especially when you're trying to prep casters.

Comparing this to Dark Star Xerath which used to be my go to, Arcana wins on every technical level. The E stun projectile is faster visually and easier to track in teamfights. It's purely cosmetic but feels like a competitive advantage sometimes. At 1350 RP it's definitely worth it if you play Xerath regularly. But if you're just picking him up occasionally, maybe wait for a sale. The skin won't make you better at hitting skillshots, but it'll probably make you more confident throwing them out. For any Xerath main though, this is the skin to use when you really need to pop off.
