Almost-Prom King Amumu

Got Almost-Prom King Amumu from a chest last week and honestly wasn't expecting much from this 520 RP skin. After about 40 games though, I'm actually impressed with how clean it feels compared to base Amumu. The whole awkward prom theme is cringe but good, especially when you're carrying as a sad mummy in a tuxedo.

The Q bandage toss feels way more responsive than base skin, probably because the rose animation is easier to track mid-flight. His W toggle has this subtle purple sparkle effect that makes it clearer when you're draining mana in teamfights. But the real difference is the ult animation. That heart explosion is so much cleaner than the standard curse particles, and I swear enemies react slower to it because they're processing what just happened. Had a dragon fight yesterday where their ADC literally stood still for half a second after my ult popped, giving us the perfect engage timing.

Compared to other Amumu skins like Surprise Party, this one's purely cosmetic with no real advantage. The recall animation where he cries into his corsage takes forever, so you might miss some CS if you're not careful. Sound effects are quieter too, which some might call pay-to-win but I think it just makes him less tilting to play for extended sessions. My experience with Almost-Prom King Amumu has been surprisingly positive overall.

Is Almost-Prom King Amumu worth it? For 520 RP, absolutely. The smoother animations alone make jungle clears feel better, and watching enemies get deleted by a heartbroken prom date never gets old. If you main Amumu or just want something different from the usual edgy skins, grab it next time it's in your shop.
