League of Legends is full of amazing carry players. Some of them are still competing professionally while others retired a while ago. Here’s a brief analysis of some of the most famous ones.
Doublelift started his career in 2011, at Counter Logic Gaming. He quickly left the team to join Epik Gamer and then unRestricted eSports just a few months after that. But in the end, he returned to CLG and spent 4 years playing there. During his stay, he got some pretty good results and even managed to win the NA LCS in the summer of 2016, after finishing 2nd in the Spring Split that same season.
At the LoL World Championship, Doublelift always had difficulties but he was constantly in the top 12. Because of this inability to perform exceptionally well when it truly mattered, the player has become known as someone who chokes under pressure. In truth, Doublelift always manages to maintain his composure but he can’t carry alone. Throughout the years, his teams were considerably weaker than the world’s best and he could only do so much.
Doublelift’s best career result was 2nd place at MSI 2019, which he won with Team Liquid. In total, he won 7 LCS trophies and proved himself to be the strongest ADC in North America.
Rekkles is one of the most popular and most accomplished carry players from Europe. His career started in 2012 at Fnatic, when he was just 15 years old. And he ended up playing for the club for many years, even though he did compete for a few other organizations here and there.
Rekkles most important results throughout the years include the following: 1st place at EU LCS Spring 2014, 1st place at EU LCS Summer 2015, 3rd – 4th place at Worlds 2015, 5th – 8th place at Worlds 2017, 1st place at EU LCS Spring 2018, 3rd – 4th place at MSI 2018, 1st place at EU LCS Summer 2018, and 2nd place at Worlds 2018, LEC Summer 2019, and LEC Summer 2020.
With these kinds of results, it’s no wonder why Rekkles is so respected in Europe. However, in 2020 he left Fnatic to join G2 Esports and had an abysmal season with his new club. Following this failure, he joined a no-name organization called Karmine Corp. It will be interesting to see what he can do for the French club in 2022.
Viper is just 21 years old but has already achieved greatness. Among other things, he won the LoL World Championship in 2021 and the LPL Summer. Ever since he joined EDward Gaming, he’s been playing exceptionally well and 2022 could bring him even more titles. The fact that he carried EDG to the Worlds title despite having DAMWON Gaming as his opponent in the Grand Final is quite amazing.
Prior to joining EDG, Viper played for South Korean teams like Griffin and Hanwha Life Esports. With these organizations, he finished 2nd in the LCK 3 times. So you could say that he was already a star player by the time he was signed by the Chinese team.
